Raja Ampat Islands located in the western part of "bird's head" (Vogelkoop) Guinea * still on Indonesian *. The islands are often also used for divers who want to feel, see, the beauty of the underwater scenery. There are four group of islands which are members that's Waigeo Island, Misool Island , Salawati Island, and Batanta Island.
Archipelagic waters is said to be one of the 10 best waters for sport diving in the world. Species that are unique and can be found while diving is a mini sea horses, wobbegong, and manta ray. There is also Endemic Raja Ampat fish that's Eviota Raja or similar Gobbie fish.
According to local mythorigin of the name Raja Ampat comes from the woman who found seven eggs. Four eggs of which hatch being four princes who separated and each became a powerful king in Waigeo, Salawati, Misool Misool East and West. And three other eggs hatch being a ghost, a woman and a stone.
Cluster region Misool found prehistoric relics in the form of hand stamp that is assigned on a rock wall. Uniquely hand stamp is located very close to sea level and not in the cave. According to the approximate age of the hand stamp is approximately 50 000 years and become part of a series of clues point man crossing from the west to Papua and Melanesia. Remaining aircraft wrecked World War II can be found in several places dives, such as at Wai Island.
The wealth of biological diversity in Raja Ampat has made himself a high level of threat as well. It can be seen from the damage to coral reefs and forests. Damage to coral reefs is generally due to fishing activities that are not environmentally friendly such as bombs, cyanide and roots bore (a kind of fluid from the processed roots of trees to poison the fish).
